Scholarship Committee
The Scholarship Committee has played an important role in fulfilling the Club’s mission for many years. It supports learning in Central Ohio through the disbursement of financial resources to a broad range of students.
The Committee administers four scholarship programs: Service Above Self (high school seniors), Pivot Point ( formerly Phoenix) scholarships (for mature students returning to school), the Young Hero scholarship (for students who have overcome significant personal challenges), and the Summer Scholars program (for middle and high school student pursuing summer enrichment opportunities). Committee members are also involved in assisting with the Career Path awards directed to students who are taking career programs at Fort Hayes and Downtown High School. Taken together, these programs represent over $100,000 per year in scholarship awards.

Supporting Graduating Seniors. Advancing Columbus’ Economy
The mission of the Columbus Rotary Career Path Awards (CPA) Program is to recognize and provide career mentoring to graduating seniors within the Columbus City School district who have demonstrated excellence in taking advantage of the opportunities offered to prepare for skilled careers which do not require a four-year college degree.
CPA committee members assist with the ongoing functioning of the program. This includes working with school officials, interviewing students, securing corporate sponsors, serving as mentors to students, and planning of the awards ceremony.
