About this collection

The Columbus Rotary Collection documents the history of Columbus Rotary (CR) over the last century. It includes photographs, letters, plaques, certificates, etc. Rotary International (RI) now includes 1.2 million members in 34,000 clubs over more than 200 countries. Notably, CR, founded in 1912, is the 38th Rotary Club ever formed and has sponsored 14 other Central Ohio Rotary clubs from Zanesville (1915) to Clintonville (2009). CR has never sought publicity and is seldom mentioned in media, however, its membership of executives and professionals voluntarily and financially supports popular local programs such as Adopt-A-School, The Arnold Sports Festival, Enterprise Academy, Homeless Families Foundation, Junior Achievement, Relay for Life, and Easter Seals. RI programs include Group and Youth Exchange, Free to Smile, and PolioPlus.
