Submit Required Application 1 – The Project Plan
Typically 3 community service teams from each school may submit applications and participate in the HS Fair.
 
This year, schools are encouraged to implement as many quality projects as possible and practical given Covid-related logistics. Number of teams determined by each school.. Appropriate recognition will be arranged for all teams.

One Project Plan for each project team.

Implementing Community Service Projects
 
Ongoing coordination among students, faculty project advisors, principals, Program Coordinator, and community resources.
 
Capture key project events in photos and videos.
 
Students wrap up their projects, finalize project display boards, and prepare for presenting projects during the Review/Reinforcement process.

Pre-covid, teams of Rotarians visited each high school to hear project presentations by student teams, reinforce the students’ work, and help teams prepare for participation in the High School Fair.
 
This year the R&R process will likely be virtual and arranged for practicality with each school.

Participation Guidelines and Requirements
for
Student Community Service/Civic Engagement Teams
 
Goals
  • Enhance the lives of the served and the servers.
  • Encourage students to apply the values of service and civic engagement throughout their lives.
  • Stimulate and reinforce interest in students' academic work. 
Guidelines
for Student Team Projects
 
  • May be conducted by student teams or an individual student.                                                                                                                                                            
  • Must be conducted with the official oversight of one or more of the following:                                                                                                                  Career & Community Resource Coordinator, school administrator, teacher, school counselor, school club advisor.                                                                                                                                                                                      
  • Three projects from each school, after successful submission of Project Plans and Executive Summaries, will be invited to participate in the high school fair. Of course, schools are encouraged to create and conduct as many community service projects as interest, time, and logistics permit.

  1. Create an account. Fill out the application. If you're done, hit "submit." OR, you may hit "save and return" if you need to pause your work and come back to it later.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   
  2. Complete a separate PROJECT PLAN for each community service project.  DISREGARD the due date on the Project Plan. Now TBD per school.                                                                                                                                                                        
  3. Noteimmediately upon submitting the PROJECT PLAN the submitter and the SSASP Coordinator will receive emails with a copy of the completed PLAN. Please keep your email for future reference.                                                                                                                                                                              
  4. Print copies of the completed PROJECT PLAN and distribute it to student team members and others as you choose.                                                            
  5. We encourage one or several students to complete the PROJECT PLAN with a review by the project advisor before submission. Use this submission as one of many ways to practice business-like thinking and writing skills.

at a special Columbus Rotary luncheon.

Participation

  • Three students and one faculty advisors from each community service team and principals.

  • CCS Board of Education members and administrations

  • Representatives from community organizations that collaborated with one of more student community service teams.

  • Rotarians and various other community leaders.

  • Representatives from corporate financial supporters and individual financial supporters.

Purposes

  • Provide a showcase for community service projects conducted by student teams from all Columbus City Schools' (CCS) middle schools.

  • Honor all projects, and select three projects to participate in the  2021 High School Fair, May 3, 2021, Archie Griffin Ballroom in the OSU Student Union

  • Recognize CCS faculty members who served as community service project advisors.

  • Salute corporate and individual financial supporters and community organization partners.
